Eagle is the county seat and westernmost town in the Vail Valley corridor, sitting where Brush Creek meets the Eagle River about 30 miles west of Vail. The town has two personalities: a practical western Colorado community with a walkable downtown grid, and the home of Eagle County Regional Airport (EGE) — a small but well-connected airport that offers direct flights from major hubs during ski season. For travelers who want Vail Valley access without I-70 tunnel traffic from Denver, flying into EGE and driving 30 minutes east is the insider move.
Eagle County Regional Airport sits on a mesa above Gypsum, 35 miles west of Vail. It is one terminal. There is no train, no shuttle bay, and no long walk. You clear the gate, collect your bags, and your chauffeur is standing at the terminal doors with a name sign.
Commercial service is seasonal and heaviest from December through early April, when carriers run nonstops from major hubs for ski traffic. Schedules shift year to year, so confirm your routing with the airline. We track whatever you are on. If the flight moves, your pickup moves with it, at no extra charge.
Bags come off slowly at a small field on a full ski Saturday. We build that into the pickup window rather than starting a clock the moment you touch down.

Those are clear-road numbers. Add time for weather, Vail Pass closures, and Sunday afternoon eastbound traffic on I-70. Dispatch pads the window when CDOT says to.

EGE is a mountain approach. Low ceilings and blowing snow send flights around, and a diverted EGE arrival usually ends up at Denver or Grand Junction.
We do not cancel on you. If you divert, call or text dispatch with the new field and we reposition a vehicle to meet you there. If we cannot reach you by phone, text, and email an hour after your flight lands somewhere else, only then do we release the car.

EGE runs hourly, two-hour minimum. Executive SUV is $125 an hour and seats five with eight bags. Luxury SUV is $150 an hour, six passengers, captain chairs. Luxury Sedan is $150 an hour for up to three. Larger parties move in the Luxury Coach Van, which seats up to twelve.

EGE is 35 miles from Vail, about a 35-minute drive; DEN is 120 miles and about two hours, longer when I-70 is stacked up or Vail Pass closes. So EGE saves roughly 90 minutes each way, close to three hours round trip. The tradeoff: EGE runs a much thinner schedule, most of its nonstops are ski-season only, and fares usually sit higher, so it earns the premium in peak winter and rarely does in the shoulder months. We meet you at either one, and there is no curbside fee at EGE.
