Her first bookings, in 2022 and 2023, were placed with Jim at his previous company. She moved with him when Arion took the work over, which is why the relationship predates the Arion booking record.
Alexis S. spent years as an event planner in the entertainment industry before moving into program and project management. Travel logistics are not a chore she outsources reluctantly. They are a skill she has, professionally, and she is exactly the person who has every reason to shop each city on price.
She does not. Since 2022 she has booked her ground transportation through Jim — and through Arion since it opened — in seven cities, including trips where the vehicle, the chauffeur and the traffic were two thousand miles from Colorado. On some of those trips she was booking for a business partner travelling with her, not only for herself.
We asked her why. Her answers, and one trip that shows the mechanism, are below.
One trip, in detail
New York, April 2026
A Denver booking, a New York arrival, a driver who works for someone else. Nothing about it required her attention.
- 5:23 PM — SCHEDULEDHer inbound flight is due into LaGuardia. The pickup is already built around that time.
- 5:12 PM — ACTUALThe flight lands eleven minutes early. Arion's monitoring picks up the real touchdown time, not the timetable.
- 5:39 PM — CURBSIDEPickup, with time allowed for the walk and the bags rather than a driver idling on the meter.
- 6:04 PM — MIDTOWNAt her hotel on East 50th Street, fifty-two minutes after wheels down.
The chauffeur that evening was a vetted New York operator. The flight tracking, the timing and the accountability were Arion's, from Colorado. That is the part that does not change when you leave the state.
Why she stopped shopping around
In her words, with the part that is repeatable in ours.
She gets told the truth, including the parts she will not like
Costs, limitations, concerns, things to consider: she hears them before she commits, not after. On one trip that meant a recommendation she had not asked for: she extended her stay in Seattle by a night to see something worth seeing. We have also told her no. Straight answers are policy here, not personality.
One contact instead of seven
Her view of the economics: “Arion's pricing is usually better or equal to calling the vendors directly. Who needs that many contacts when only one is needed?” Seven cities would otherwise mean seven vendor relationships, seven billing arrangements and seven sets of standards to verify.
Late notice and odd requests get solved
Same-week additions, changed schedules, a second passenger added to a booking. In the earlier years of the relationship it stretched to a nine-passenger executive van laid on to host VIPs across two nights of a concert run. Network depth is what makes that possible. A single-city operator has to say no.
The car is set up before she is in it
Chilled water on every ride. In Colorado, a stocked cooler with a real range of refreshments. Music on her preference with the volume and the controls handed to her, not managed for her. And because Arion's personal fleet is specified in high trim levels, with our Luxury SUVs in late-model flagship trims, heated seats, which stop being a luxury detail somewhere on hour two of a mountain transfer. Her verdict on those seats is not printable in full.
Nothing about it feels like a vendor
Her dog, by her own account, dislikes everybody, and howls at the door to be let out when the Arion vehicle pulls up. There is always a treat in the car, and nobody has ever mentioned the shedding. It is a small thing. Small things are the whole business.
Who needs that many contacts when only one is needed?— Alexis S., program manager, a client of Jim’s since 2022 and of Arion since it opened
What this looks like as an arrangement
- One booking contact and one accountable party in every city she travels to
- Flight monitoring attached to the booking, so an early landing is handled without a phone call
- Vetted, regionally licensed operators outside Colorado; Arion's own high-trim fleet inside it
- Bookings placed for travelling colleagues under the same arrangement
- Four years of repeat business, across a change of company, with no cancellations on the current record
Quoted with her permission. Surname withheld and employer not named at her request. Trip counts and dates are taken from Arion's booking records; her reasons are her own words, given by phone in August 2026.

Questions about travel outside Colorado
Can Arion book my ground transportation in other cities?
Yes. The booking stays with Arion: we place the ride with an operator licensed for that region, brief them on your itinerary ourselves, and invoice the transportation. You keep one point of contact and one accountable party instead of sourcing a stranger in an unfamiliar city. Our clients have used this in seven cities.
Who drives when the trip is outside Colorado?
A vetted operator that holds the livery authority required in that region and meets its vehicle standards. We brief the driver on your schedule and remain responsible for the timing. Inside Colorado, 82.6 percent of trips are run in Arion's own fleet, with the balance covered by Arion-trained affiliate chauffeurs. See our vetting standards.
Does Arion track my flight when the ride is in another city?
Yes. Flight monitoring is attached to the booking, not to the vehicle. On a New York arrival in April 2026, the inbound flight landed eleven minutes early at LaGuardia; the pickup was adjusted and the client was at her midtown hotel about fifty minutes after touchdown, with no call required from her.
What is in Arion's own Colorado vehicles?
Arion's personal fleet is specified in high trim levels, with our Luxury SUVs in late-model flagship trims, which means heated seats — something you notice on a two-hour mountain transfer. Chilled water is standard on every ride, Colorado vehicles carry a stocked cooler with a range of refreshments, and music is set to your preference with the controls left in your hands. Amenities in affiliate vehicles outside Colorado vary by operator.
Can Arion handle a last-minute or unusual request?
Usually, and we will tell you plainly when we cannot. Requests have ranged from same-week additions to a nine-passenger executive van arranged to host VIPs across two nights of a concert run. What we will not do is agree to something we cannot deliver — clients get the real constraints, including cost, before they commit.
